Not every filmmaker starts in film school.
GhanShyam Singh Odint is a filmmaker, writer and lyricist whose stories begin in the villages of Rajasthan. His path didn't start in a studio — responsibility came before ambition, and after school he spent years working to support his family before returning to the dream he had set aside.
He trained in film direction and moved to Mumbai, where he learned the discipline of production as an assistant director at Balaji Telefilms and later worked with filmmaker-producer Saawan Kumar. In time, the urge to tell his own stories outgrew helping to tell other people's.
He wrote and directed the Rajasthani feature Vishesh, a run of music videos through his label SinghTone Music, and the award-winning documentary The Desert Kick. Today he runs SinghVerse Media and hosts long-form podcast conversations on history, faith and society. He studied at the University of Rajasthan.
